A well known personality here has been jailed today for rape he committed decades ago. I am glad that he has finally been punished but it should have been done long ago. He has had years of freedom in which he could have abused or intiminated many young women. There are many reasons why women do not not come forward to report these crimes.
If you were abused would you report it? Or would you be afraid of being accused of leading the man on?
Hopefully the #me too movement has brought about some changes and women are less vulnerable now.

Jo Ann was too young to have the confidence to report the rape. I am sure that those who pick on very young women know that they probably won't report it.

I would have felt the same way if I had been in your place.

I hate reading or watching the news about rape victims, but glad that the offender is already in jail and I hope he will stay there forever. I hope the victim is okay and have a better life. I don't know if I can report it maybe I 'll lose my head before I can say a word, but definitely I will fight for justice with the little strength that left in me, but I really pray it won't happen to me or to anyone. I just really pray that everyone should receive love inside their home first so that they will not turn into a madman... I feel sad about it and terrified as well.
God bless us all and stay safe, I hope the pandemic will be over soon, I want our freedom back!

There are so many injustices in this world.. I often think of whoever murdered my younger brother 25 years ago, must be enjoying life.. but worst of all, maybe he murdered another or more.. I hope he too became a victim which would be nice.. but there's no way of knowing..

There are more and more such incidents coming to light in Australia. However, it is still quite common for the women to be disbelieved or seen as inviting such behaviour.
