228 Republican lawmakers are asking the US Supreme Court overturn Roe v Wade

The Supreme Court is taking up a case involving a Mississippi law that outlaws abortions after 15 weeks and has no exception for rape or incest. Lawyers for the Representatives and Senators argue that the states are capable of dealing with the issue based on science and the opinions of their residents. It will be interesting to see how the Supreme Court rules on the issue. With the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg the Court is now 6-3 in favor of conservative principles. Chief Justice John Roberts has been joining the liberal justices more often over the past couple of years but even then it would be 5-4. Trump selected Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Coney Barrett for just such a case. They have disappointed him so far by not ruling the way he wanted (see: Trump's tax returns) but I think they will make him happy in this instance.
Nearly 230 Republican members of Congress told the Supreme Court on Thursday that it should overturn Roe v. Wade and release its "vise grip on abortion politics."

I don't really understand this; so I'll withhold comment.

I believe that lawyers are lawyers, not politicians, and are not nominated to apply the will of politicians but to interpret the law. I am surprised to see this call of GOP lawmakers. The legislative power should not tell to the judiciary what to do. It would be an unacceptable interference in my country. Only in Trump's dreams.
