My daughters new job and the baby has arrived

I took my daughter to her job interview Thursday morning. She was supposed to meet the owner at 10am but he was late.
My daughter was asked by the assistance manager who she is related to due to it being a small town. My daughter told her who I was and the girl told her to go out and get me and have me come in and visit.
The girl was a grade below me in school and very sweet. So I went in and visited with her for a bit then she told us to go ahead out and have a seat and she’d let us know when the boss arrived.
He never came so the girl called my daughter in and interviewed her herself and hired her. My daughter is elated. She plans to work one day during the week and both Saturday and Sunday. It’s about a 25 minute drive one way is the only thing that stinks about it but she really wants a job and no where in town hired her. There loss!
Friday after dinner I vacuumed the living room carpet and shampooed it. I wanted to get it clean for the baby as that’s where I’ll have to be changing her.
This morning I woke up at 4am having contractions. They were about 15 minutes apart. I debated on what to do. With her being breech I decided to go and get checked out. I was correct on it being labor.
Ella was born at 10:46 am via c-section. She weighs 7 lbs 5 oz. Nursing isn’t going well. She’s not taking the whole thing in her mouth so she’s sucking and not getting milk. I have to pump it then give it to her with a syringe.
I thought it was neat I went into labor on my due date. Unfortunately we missed a graduation party and my husbands family reunion.

@CarolDM I’m not sure if cleft palate can cause her to have a weakened immune system but I hope not. I know online it said they can get ear infections easily from it. I had them so chronically as a kid I have bad hearing from it. My two oldest children have never had one thankfully.

@snowy22315 I was in the hospital for 3 days. I was glad to be able to go home. I was in so much pain on day 2 that was the worst day of healing.

@shaggin I had a really hard labor. I would have stayed in the hospital a week if they would have let me. Kaiser was determined to kick me out as quickly as possible. They told me the next day I could go home if I wanted to. I almost laughed

@allknowing I wasn’t expecting her to arrive on her due date. I thought I’d go a week overdue.

That photo made me melt.
It's been so long since I've held a baby.
So sweet. Congratulations to you and to your daughter on the new job.

@Vikingswest1 my niece who is 5 was the last newborn I held before this.
With corona in the house my daughter has to take some time off from work but she gets to go back tomorrow.

@JudyEv very. She can’t go the bathroom if she has formula so she hasn’t gone in 3 days now. She was screaming so bad for so long last night and nothing would comfort her so my husband had to go sleep on the couch so he could get some sleep for work. My daughter held her this morning while I pumped one side but that was as long as Ella would allow someone else to hold her.

Congrats on the birth. Glad you went into labor on your due date. Missing out sucks, but for good reason.

@kaylachan it’s good we didnt go as my stepson did and caught Covid there. If I went in labor with Covid I can’t imagine how bad things would have been. Thankfully I didn’t catch Covid from him but my son did. Everyone is healthy now.

@marlina thank you. She just fell asleep for then night and spit up everywhere so now she wants her binky and to be held so I’m on the couch with her for awhile while my husband sleeps. Hoping to get to bed soon but while I wait I’ll knock off some notifications I’m very far behind on here.
My daughter is enjoying working there very much I’m very happy for her.

@noni1959 my daughter loves her job. She worked last night after school for the first time. She had to get up at 6am for school then work from 5-10 so she was very tired last night.
I am healing well after the c-section. The baby I think has colic. She’s tough. Luckily at night she sleeps well to make up for the crying all day long and having to hold her constantly. It’s hard to get anything done.

@JimBo452020 thank you! It didn’t get better unfortunately. She has cleft palate so she can’t nurse from me I have to pump and give it to her in a special bottle.

@LadyDuck really I hadn’t heard that about soy? She would scream in pain for hours after having even the tiniest bit of regular formula. She isn’t doing that with soy thankfully. My stepson had to have soy and two of nieces on my husbands side as well. My sister in law is lactose intolerant. Lactose intolerance runs on my side as well. I couldn’t drink milk until I got pregnant with my first child, my sister and her oldest daughter are lactose intolerant as well.

@shaggin It is very possible that she has an allergy to regular formula. I remember that I had the same problem when I was only a few weeks old. I believe that your little girl is lactose intolerant, ask to your doctor what to give her to avoid deficiencies.

@shaggin sounds like a good experience for your daughter especially that she likes the job. Maybe one day she'll be a chef.
You must be exhausted and I hope little Ella can relieve her constipation. She must be so uncomfortable

@Marshamusselman thank you! With her being breech I had to have a c-section so I got my tubes tied too. Boy was that all painful.

@MarshaMusselman I had fifth degree tears with my oldest daughter, it tore into my bladder and tore into my rectal muscles as well an breaking my tailbone. I’d still rather go through all that again then a c-section and tubal.

@shaggin natural births can be painful too. My natural was worse for recuperation time than the c section was.

@DianneN thank you. The third day before we left the hospital we chose her middle name : Elaina. His grandmothers name was Elaine but I didn’t like that enough so I wanted Elaina. Earlier that day he suggested Rose and I said he could decide. He wound up choosing Elaina.

@Courtlynn same. I spend more of my free time on Facebook. Not really free time really as if I’m on here or Facebook I’m sitting feeding the baby and typing with my free hand.
