So with the Delta variant creating a scare, I want to get vaccinated as soon as possible but still want to get either Pfizer, Moderna, or Janssen.
Got a text from my condo association that there will be a vaccination scheduled in the premises yesterday, Saturday. I got a slot but they did not divulge the vaccine brand. I don't get it, why would they do to that? It is my body so I have a say what brand of vaccine to put in it. Anyway, I went home to my condo and was about half an hour late for my scheduled slot. I was surprised to see that there were no more people and they were actually packing up their things. I had approached a person in the registration area and they said that they ran out of vaccines. Everyone who they texted got vaccinated. Those that missed their schedule, their slots were given to those who had lined up.
Imagine this - 1,000 vaccine dosages gone in a little over two hours. Anyway, I wrote my name again and re-registered.
The mall across the street is a mega-vaccination site. Last time out, they accepted walk-ins. I was in the area so I decided to go there. The vaccination site in in their 4th floor. The line for the vaccination was so long that the end of the line was a the 2nd floor already. They did not accept walk-ins yesterday but I was told that I can always come on the weekday and see if they will get walk-ins. Will try going again here tomorrow, Monday, August 2.
It is very clear from my personal experience that it isn't vaccine hesitancy that is the problem, it is the low vaccine supply and the disorganized vaccine roll-out.
How's your vaccination experience so far fellow myLotters?

Walk-ins are accepted at any Walmart, Price Cutter and Consumers 7 days a week. (Those are all local grocery stores.)
I got the Moderna vaccine in April/May.

@crossbones27 it's the roll out in some areas that is the problem. I would say more of a management problem with the local government.

I have yet to have mine, but so far schedules here and roll out goes smoothly. All is coordinated with the barangay, even for us LGU employees we should coordinate with our respected barangay.

@allen0187 maybe next week. Just recovered from Covid so still on a few days more quarantine. Our names are already with the barangay. My staff had their shots last Friday. They were vaccinated with Johnson J and it's one doze only.

My vaccination is completed and I had Pfizer. We mostly use Moderna and Pfizer now and it is always completely clear which one you are getting. You can't choose which one of those two you want, but most people are okay with that. We have bought other vaccines and we used them in the past, but now they are only used if people specifically ask for them, and they have to talk to a doctor first.

Pfizer and Moderna are fine. I'd have those rather than the Chinese brand.

@allen0187 I understand. I hope you will get yours next time you try. The walk-in vaccination centres here are very crowded. When they introduced the walk-in centres they were surprised how many people showed up.

I know that is why I'm staying here in my condo for this week so I'm just across the mega-vaccine site. I'll be going there tomorrow to check if I could walk-in and what vaccine they are giving. Anything other than the vaccine brand from the country that started this pandemic, I'll most likely get it.

@eileenleyva made a post about my siblings vaccine experiment just now.
Got word from the same friend that Pfizer and Moderna will be made available in our city. Hoping to get vaccinated this month.
VP should be leading the IATF. She has a concrete plan onhow to deal with this crisis. Can't say the same about the rest.

Here we pretty much done, still a lot more need them but they refusing so our government now paying people to get them. Plus if at a place of work they will pay the work place to give your employees paid leave to get the vaccine and recover. Not sure how long it is but geez, what a spoiled country we have become where you have to wait in long lines. here can get a vaccine pretty much everywhere at any time and does not take long at all.

@DaddyEvil That is a creative idea and if it works, I heard Missouri one of the states where they having problems with Delta variant because people will not get them. I see Cardinal posts and go that's pretty crowded and hardly anyone wearing a mask hope all those people are vaccinated.

@crossbones27 I can't remember, but I think the last time I looked, only 34% of Missourians have been vaccinated. So the State Government is now trying to bring us up to the national average and this is the way they chose to do it.
If it was up to me, I'd send the doses for the people who don't want the vaccine to countries where the people want them and let the idiots die. But I'm also tired of all the fighting about whether people should get them or not. If they don't want it, fine. Let them die.

Missouri has set up a drawing to entice people to get vaccinated. They draw names from those who've gotten vaccinated every two weeks and will give $10,000 to each of 180 people each time they draw names. The drawings are every two weeks for three months.

Yes, l think hesitancy is not the issue anymore it's the supplies that make it so slow. The government pushing the Chinese brand makes people hesitate to get it but they are the ones that are plentiful. That is why I decided to have it to be protected already at least then wait for my preferred one. Maybe when a booster is needed l might choose my preferred brand.

@allen0187 And they are not allowing the private sector to hold their vaccination programs. Our company organized one for its employees and the government just delayed our orders for Moderna and Astra so other employees have chosen to be vaccinated through their local government units because of the delay we targetted to have it last May but due to the supplies not being delivered to us, we have just started this month when they provided us small allocations.
I got my vaccine from my LGU because of this and only my son was able to avail of the company-sponsored vaccine. I can compare that it is more efficient in my son's vaccination than the one we experience in our LGU. In just a few minutes after they screened him up he was jabbed and 15 minutes after observation he was released. In our case, we waited in the queue for a couple of hours before we were given the vaccine.

@rsa101 goverenment is with holding the vaccines and are just flooding the LGUs with the Chinese brand so people have no choice but to take it. There were also news reports that priviate companies should make vaccine donations to the government so the vaccines that they ordered for their employees are released.

True. Supplies are being controlled by the government. All the good brands are diverted to a province down south. We are left with the Chinese brand and are forced to take it.

It is very easy here. Most Clinics and hospitals are accepting walk ins and you can also choose which vaccines you like. I`m sorry you had a hard time getting it but I hope you can get it tomorrow.

Thanks.
EU is prohibiting people who have been vaccinated with the Chinese brand based on news reports. While in Singapore, they are not counting in the statistics of vaccinated people those who got the Chinese vaccine.

I got my first dose, my second dose is scheduled for Wednesday. It was a very smooth process. The registration and appointment were all done online and we can always check with the vaccination centres what vaccine we would be getting. If for any reason we can't (or choose not to) take a particular vaccine, we can cancel the appointment with that centre and request to be scheduled at another centre that gives the vaccine we wanted. So far I've not heard of cases where they ran out of vaccine supplies.

Good for you.
Registration was done online here. Then we get a text message/SMS about our schedule. So far, I have yet to receive a text/SMS. I followed up via email but got no answer yet. My siblings were registered again manually here in our LGU so that is why they got a schedule for today.
It has been chaotic so far. Been talking with my brother over SMS and they are still waiting in line.

Mine was perfect. I made two appointments, got there on time (but see below), was surprised by how organized and in control things were, and had no side effects. I think mine was Moderna.
Below: I was actually late for one appointment and experienced the same thing you did. They were packing up. I had thought they would be open later than they were. I just went back the next day.
Early vaccine hesitancy may be leading to a rush of people who want to get vaccinated now. All of my friends have had positive experiences with how well-organized the roll-out has been, though a couple had minor side effects (feeling pooped for a day).

That is good to know. My siblings have their schedule today. Their timeslot is 10:30am, they were in the vaccine site at 9:30am but to their dismay and surprise, the place was packed and the timeslots were no longer honored. They are still in the vaccination site waiting for their turn. The vaccination site is in the parking lot of a mall so it is hot and humid.

Vaccinations are gradually picking up in India. So far we have two vaccines - The Indian homegrown Covaxin by Bharat BioTech Ltd
and the Astra Zeneca- Serum Institute-Oxford combine Covishield - which goes by Astra Zeneca name in Europe and US. Sputnik from Russia too has been started but its supplies would be good only from September.
Some folks have similar problems as you but it has been smooth for us and many more. It also varies from area to area. Crowded and low density areas are still fine but very heavily crowded areas have more issues.

Like I said in the other comment, My mother and I went to Walmart back in June. My mother thought they did walk-ins, but the women who answered said we had to schedule. So I scheduled ours and we were the ones there for the shot when we got the first shot. They had only the Moderna or Pfizer. I picked Moderna. When we went back again for the second shot, there was two other people in front of us getting their shot.

Very convenient indeed! Plus, you get to choose what vaccine to take. Here, the people are given no choice.
