The Dude Was Waiting on the Sofa

Funny how every night before we start watching television, Brendel and the Dude seem to be in a race to see who will get in my lap first.
The Dude got smart. Lately, he has started sitting in my spot on the sofa before I get there. He beats Brendel to my lap. But they usually exchange spots during the evening. They are such funny cats.
And the Dude is really like my shadow. He likes to be in the same room, wherever I am during the day and night.
Brendel has to be in the mood. She usually sleeps in other beds throughout the house and screen room. But when she is ready to sit with me, she makes sure he finds another spot. Like having two children.
Snapped this photo last night as the Dude was waiting. I tried to put the remote control in his paws but he didn't like the idea so much.

Animals love to be with their families. When we had the two Pomeranians, they used to both jump into my husband's lap before his behind even hit the chair.

That would've been funny if he did. My cats go through their moods, too. Used my hp to do something online, and today I was cat free.

He looks mighty relaxed and not a little smug at having beaten Brendel to your spot.

@CarolDM That style of laying seems to be a black cat thing. Not that I havent' seen other cats do so, but mostly it's the black ones who love to relax that way.

Dude does look like he's all relaxed and ready to watch some tv. Cats (and dogs) do similar things when it comes to being with us or sitting on our laps. Our dogs know when it's time to watch tv and relax at night.

. Buttons was our girl who needed to be where we were always. Ginger she likes to come and look at us then retires to our bedroom which we call G's suite. She loves looking out into the back yard.
