Thinking out loud

I remember my Mom buying chubby sized dresses for me when I was a kid. I've never been a bikini model and never wanted to be!
Health calls my name. Joints and a cruddy back and cruddy knees are demanding that I shed some pudge. I have set goals before on this front. I did it again. I set a "me" goal at the start of July. For me I would lose five pounds by my road trip- the road trip that we would make on the third week of August.
All through July I traded fruit for some sweet treats. I made sure to walk somewhere with Rufus on Friday mornings. I made myself do more little cleaning tasks and just in general kept a better eye on calorie intake. I also drank protein shakes that my daughter says is good for me.
And I did it. I have lost just over five pounds. I have three weeks to go so full speed ahead! Maybe I can get to ten pounds down? I'm sure that Rufus plans to stick around so I might as well keep on taking care of him and me at the same time.

You are doing really well Lenore.
Walking with Rufus will pay dividends, and not just for weight loss.

@JimBo452020 Rufus is such a good dog. We continue to work on his bark-athons.

@JimBo452020 It's not fun. Not one bit. I have a long leash on him tonight so that I can control him if I need to. His loud barking when I sneeze, cough, the phone rings etc. etc. wears on our nerves.

Attach dog cookies all over your body and take Rufus for walks.
It will turn a regular walk into aerobics.
Work smart, not hard.

@prashu228 Everyone is different. Being mindful of what you eat will help. Thanks for the encouragement.
