This is the saddest reality that is happening now in Philippines particularly in Cebu City. Due to the surge of delta variant residents in Cebu fall in line for oxygen tank buying this day. How scary this variant is that it spreads like measles according to health officials. Is this how humanity ends ? Is this the start of the prediction of Nostradamus that this year is the year of the Zombie Apocalypse and it will start in Russia? . Why is the World Health Organization too lenient in producing the hardest combatants of corona virus. This virus continues to mutate from Lambda, Beta, Kappha, Theta now Delta variants. The vaccines being recommended and compulsory cannot defend vaccinated humans for those fully vaccinated got infected again. But we are told to wear face mask again and it is not hard to do. Is face mask better than vaccine? Also for the oxygen panic buying in Cebu, what will happen to those who cannot afford? How much is per oxygen thank , by the way. Thanks for reading my long post. I am truly sad and afraid of the situations we all are facing this time. Photo here is sent to me by my cousin resident in Cebu.

If only people learn to have a mind set of preparing emergency or no emergency then things like panic buying will not happen, oxygen tanks could be dangerous to hoard for people with no proper training.

@cacay1 tanks ranges from 1,500 pesos to 5,000 (30 to 100 dollars) depending on weight ( 5. 15, 20, 50 lbs.), You also need to buy the regulator separately sometimes. This is medical grade because I had tried using industrial grade for cutting steel with acetylene at times when I get a contract to knock out steel structures to be sold as " bakal ". Hoarding is not good because there might be a shortage of tanks to be refilled and there won't be enough where it's mostly needed

@louievill thanks for sharing. I hope these buyers won't be put to danger. . I wonder why are they in panic when they can be safe by just staying patiently at home.

@louievill, so true, it's deadly if it bursts. Maybe they were trained or told to or how to handle this oxygen tank. How much do you think is the price of this tank?

@prashu228, I really do not know. Cebu is far from my city. It takes 1 hour to reach Cebu by plane and whole night travel by a shipping line.

@cacay1 Things are not looking good here, definitely. We hit the highest number of cases today. The political drama isn't helping to make things better. It's frustrating.

I also feel stressful because the virus seems to come back here, amount of infected cases is rising.the policy limiting people to go out of current city tightened up.We are asked to wear face mask again.A variety of sign indicated the situation is going serious.however it was still under control.hope life of all people return to normal soon.

@jefferson126 , I also read about that info in news about the surging back of the virus in your country particularly in the two big cities, forgot the names of the cities. It is stressful and distressing. We lost our freedom, as to when shall this end, it is still a very big question.

@S4mmyboy , Maybe there is a sudden manufacturer. Others create and do business in this pandemic. They take advantage of being a capitalist and price so high. I hope these tanks are safe.

@S4mmyboy, they are on panic buying of oxygen tanks preparation for a worst scenario they think may happen after knowing delta is here now in the Philippines. The President declared this day Family lockdown. No one is allowed to go out unless for essentialities but only 1 must go.

@cacay1 atleast oxygen cylinders are available for you. Here we had a huge shortage even in the hospital. Forget the common man, oxygen cylinders weren't available in the hospitals also.

@popciclecold , Many disliked the idea of the people in Cebu to hoard oxygen tank especially it's summer time in Ph, it is so hot here and hoping no tank explosion. It is more than deadly. The college where I taught turn to ashes when 2 oxygen tanks in the Chemistry laboratory exploded.

@Letranknight2015, according to @louievill, the price of the oxygen tank varies according to contents from 1,500 to 5,000 ( 5, 10, 15, 20 lbs.) . We cannot blame the people there, it is just a surety of their life. It also seems that they will be infected, they should think always think positive but stay negative,LOL.

OMG! The people are getting crazy there. The oxygen tank is very dangerous when expose to smoke or fire. It will explode. They are bringing explosive at home.. More dangerous than the virus. Why are those people allowed to buy Oxygen tanks?

@thelme55, I really do not know. Maybe they know the danger and do extra measures to prevent tank explosion. They might be oriented on the danger. Let us just wait and see especially this time, it is summer and so hot here in Ph and fire may be inevitable to some areas that are flammable.

The situation is similar to here, some traders actually stockpile oxygen and then sell it for more than the stipulated price.

Sounds like another hype by people in business of making oxygen tanks.. Spreading fear instead of promoting proper health care.. so that they can sell more oxygen tanks... Mother Nature is already providing us with natural oxygen..

@aureategloom , I cannot avoid to feel sad and afraid for the delta variant is now in the city where I live . It is so scary. I just amused myself watching videos in Olympics and interacting here. They relieve mental stress. We have to forget tomorrow and think of the yesterday when humans have lots of freedom, yet the freedom may have been the root cause of our sufferings this time.
