This evening, Dixie has an online spiritual get together. For that she makes a delicious braided bread and she shares it along with a cup of red wine.

I used to make bread when the girls were children and my sister only eats homemade bread (because she lives far from supermarkets). Now there are machines that make bread but when I did it, it was made by hand.
Do you make your bread? I know that our friends from India eat chapati.

I have eaten the bread my sister makes with her machine and it is nice for a change but I prefer the bread made by hand.

@marguicha I also prefer the bread made by hand, it is different, the machine is fine for those who do not know how to make the bread manually.

@marguicha It's sad, isn't it? I never thought that I wouldn't be able to get around in my 60s and 70s. Retirement, to me, was supposed to be a time of cooking a lot and traveling.

I make almost all my own bread here.
I make buns and rolls and coffee cakes with the same dough recipe.
It's the same recipe my wife's grandmother used. I suspect she got it from HER mother.
Nothing like fresh bread out of the oven.

we don't make bread, but my grandma used to make it because she was used to making it and the market wasn't close. i liked it.
