Allergic Reaction?

I noticed the past couple days that my arms were really itchy and it looked like some kind of rash was forming. I hadn't had any new foods lately...or haven't used any new products. My meds have been the same too. However, I have been taking a sort of new med. Was prescribed it before but only took a few days worth because I didn't want to be on blood pressure meds. My doc says it's for that...but to also protect the kidneys. Anyways...it does say itchy rash is an allergic reaction/side effect. So I could be allergic...if so then that's the only allergic reaction so far. What do you think?

@MommyOfEli2013 This is important. If you are having an allergic reaction, he may take you off of it right away.

As you said, only reason i can figure out is your medicine, nothing else.If you stop medicine, and the symptom was gone, then it's sure the root rest with med.

@MommyOfEli2013 You better check with your doctor for a better advice.. Or maybe a combination of food and med can have this allergic. Have to check which food is not going with this med. Your doctor can give you an alternative med.

Most BP meds list itching as a possible side effect. I read on WebMD that certain foods can worsen the side effect. You could be having a side effect from the meds or a combination of meds and foods. A rash is an allergic reaction. Mild but still something to look into. Look up the med you took and look at the known side effects and the severity of your symptom. It will tell you if there should be concern and when to seek medical attention.

@Vikingswest1 Well I don't want to give up my electrolyte drink. I'd rather not be on the pill. I've had the itching/rash most of the week lol

I looked at the paper that came with the meds that has all the info on it...it says that a rash with or without fever is an allergic reaction to this med. Says severe allergic reaction is if it is anywhere that would cause breathing problems. It says not to take this med with high potassium foods/supplements and I have been using things to up my potassium. Ooops.
