August 9 - What I'm Thankful for Today

It's August and you never know what you're going to get for the weather. We have a combination of rain, sun, and heat today with high humidity. The weatherman is liking the humidity to the tropics. Ugh! Is it autumn yet?
I'm thankful for waking early, even though I didn't go to the Y this morning. With everything I ate yesterday, my stomach felt bloated and uneasy. I got a lot done with not going anywhere. And then there was the rain.
I'm thankful for the notifications this morning and for being here with you. It's always good to know what you're doing in your corner of the world.
I'm thankful for the work I did on Vendetta this morning. One more chapter division. 46 chapters now instead of 45. I still expect to publish in 8 days.
I'm thankful for coming back here and getting more notifications finished. It's been a laidback day. If you want to call it that.
I'm thankful for the packing I got done. I'm now out of boxes and will get more from my son tomorrow. Just when I think I have a room finished, I find I forgot two cupboards in my kitchen - the pantry and my spice cupboard. I have most of that packed now. I'll finish tomorrow when I get more boxes. Then I can move onto my bedroom.
I'm thankful for the walking I've done around the complex today between raindrops. I'm not wearing my Fitbit anymore, but I know I have around 7K steps and probably more with all the packing I've been doing. It's too hot to walk the trail today.
Tomorrow they're supposed to repair the parking lot if it doesn't rain. Good luck with that as there's rain in the forecast. I also have a hospital appointment in the morning, so I won't be here as much tomorrow. If they do repair the parking lot, I'll be at my son's for the day as we need to move the cars off the lot. They didn't even give us a time frame, so I'll be playing it by ear. If they can't do it tomorrow, they'll do it Wednesday. I just checked the weather report and it looks like they'll be doing the parking lot on Wednesday. We have a weather alert day tomorrow.

Hot and humid week here, too, but happy to enjoy each day as it comes - with a/c.
. Newspaper this morning said CT now has a huge quantity of osprey living near all bodies of water.
Can’t live without a/c or heat.

That sounds like a good day. When I am packing I leave doors and drawers open that I have emptied. That helps know where you left off.
I was thankful to get a rain today too. The garden really needed it

I'm glad you got rain.

I still have packing to do in the kitchen. At least I know I'm almost finished. I should have more boxes today so I can get started in my bedroom.
That's a good way to know where you left off. I'm glad you got needed rain.
We're saturated and getting more today. From the forecast, it looks like we could end up with flooding.

That's a lot. If you're not tracking your steps with a wearable, how do you know how many steps you've accomplished?

Each circuit around the complex is a thousand plus steps, I know in the past that I had 10K before I finished the eighth round. So, I'm guessing I had close to 11K yesterday. The trail, if I do the normal route is 5K steps. If I do the extended that I've been doing lately, it's 10K. So, I can easily get over 20K a day.

What a lovely sculpture! I know it wasn't the subject of your post, but wanted to comment anyway.
Did you get any tornado weather your way? The area south of my sister (southwestern Wisconsin) got absolutely demolished over the weekend.
