The Little Chipmunk On Our Deck

It's really hot here... and it's not just people who are trying to stay cool, it's chipmunks too. This morning, hubby noticed a baby chipmunk (it sure looked like a baby lol, taking shade beneath the clematis bush climbing up our deck. He found a nice shady spot and stretched out for about 10 minutes to get out of this heat.
My first thought was that he wanted to feast on my plant, but after seeing the little guy having a little snooze in the shade, I didn't have to heart to shoo him away. There is just something about chipmunks that grab your heart lol!
At least that one did! I named him Charlie and will be watching if he comes back.

Chipmunks are so cute. We used to leave unsalted peanuts for them on the porch. They would fill their little cheeks up to capacity. When we had the dogs, unfortunately the chipmunks all disappeared.

They are definitely adorable... just might have to invest in some unsalted peanuts lol!!

@Hate2Iron We gave them the unshelled ones; and it was so funny to see them stuff those big peanuts into those cheeks.

There is a bit of a breeze today so I managed to get my walk in but no hill climbing! Hope that the little guy is fine too!
