August 17 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Yesterday and today are basically the same. I haven't been here because I'm ready to publish Vendetta. I decided to read through it just to make certain it was ready. I'm glad I did. I started reading from the middle as I figured the first part was good. I decided I'm reading it from beginning to end before I hit the publish button.
I'm thankful for hearing from my oldest and best friend. She moved. When I tried to call her on her birthday, I found out the number changed and she moved. When I got her number, through her daughter and mine, I called and left a message. We finally connected today. She's doing great for which I'm happy.
I'm thankful I could get my steps. The complex decided to pave the parking lot and made it difficult for me to walk the complex as I usually do. However, I've met all my fitness goals. I'm also losing weight. I'm back down to 175.2 today. 
Next week they do the other half of the parking lot. I'll need to keep my car off this side of the lot for 24 hours.
That's been my day, yesterday and today. 22 days until I get the keys. 17 swims until I move. It's getting close. Between getting my book ready to publish and packing to move, I've been busy.

@just4him Me too. After two rough week of sleepless night, I so deserved it. Yes it is. He asked what made me decide to look for a job--I told him financial security (frugal living, saving to move next year). He seemed okay with my answer.

@TheSojourner I'm going to see if I can talk her into coming to Florida to do a book signing. She can make it a "working vacation." lol

@moffittjc It would be great to be able to come to Florida, but how about sending your copy and I'll sign it and send it back. Would that work for you? I could sign Thread of Evidence at the same time.

I'm thankful that I found another British mystery series to watch free on YouTube. Inspector Wexford. It doesn't take much to make me happy.

You know I'm happy to hear that Vendetta is very close to publishing. 
Glad you were able to reconnect with your friend, reach your steps and smile at the scale.

Jay finally finished the stone on the house, it's under our front window. The next move, to stain the porch and it's all done outside. I chopped off the ferns, so he had a place to walk:) Congratulations on finishing Vendetta, now reading through cover to cover, won't take long. Good job, Valerie! My best friends live in California, I plan to visit them some day(only God knows when). I'm glad you reconnected, that's wonderful news!

Thank you. I finally finished reading the last half of the book today, made corrections. Today was minor which was good. I'll start reading the first half tomorrow. It should go fast.

It is a busy time for you with the publishing of Vendetta and getting ready to move into your new place. Glad that you connected with your friend again and that she is doing well.
I am thankful that nothing came of the tornado warnings we had all day. Just periods of heavy rain. And as far as I know, Mike's brother and wife landed safely and are with Mom for the next 10 days as he paints rooms and new floors are going to be installed. Have a blessed evening.
