Let's get it done...

Good evening from this side of the planet
. It is 9 PM here. I am done with almost all that was to be done for the day
I have a long weekend and today was a holiday. It was a wonderful day and we had a lot of fun. It was a holiday for everyone in the family and so we could get some good family time together.
We ordered Chinese food from our favourite restaurant for lunch. I cooked but then we wanted some change. 
And a post here about spring rolls yesterday made me crave for veg spring rolls. So, we ended up ordering veg spring rolls, veg momos and noodles from our favourite restaurant. The home-cooked lunch was used for dinner.
It was chit chat, jokes and some board games after foodWe laughed our lungs outI did not come to online space and kept it a family day.
Now. we have a day off tomorrow except for my elder daughter who has online school tomorrow and a Maths test tomorrow morning. The family fun made her relaxed and now she can revise a bit and go to bed to wake up fresh for her test tomorrow. She is busy with that, the younger one is busy with her crochet and my husband is on his laptop taking care of his official mail.
Now, I can be here and mylot till bedtime.. I have been lazy to answer notifications in the last two days and they have piled up. So, I would just sit here and get it done now. It might take me more than an hour as I have more than 100 to take care ofBut let's stay focussed and get it done. I should not get distracted by the recent posts. I am always tempted to read and respond to them.

Wow..you all had a great time together today.. spending time with family is very important especially for students..i can totally understand that as i have lived most of my life in hostel.. even last year during lockdown i was not at home...i am living with my family in this lockdown but sadly neither me nor my parents are getting time to spend with each other..i hope i get plenty of their time next month until i move somewhere else

My husband and I have always made sure that we get some family time each day. When we have our evening tea, he calls my daughters with their milk to join us and we chat at least for half an hour in a relaxed manner. And on some holidays, we do these things. They are 17 and 15 and both have their board exams this academic year. In a matter of few months, my elder one will leave our nest only to come back for holidays and special occasions. And in another two years, her sister will be ready to spread their wings. I want to have a lot of memories with them to cherish when they leave my nest.

@ThatDisha I have kept saying that to all the parents that I come across. I am a counselor and special educator. And I keep saying to parents in all my meetings and workshops that the best gift you can give to your child is love and time. That will build their self-esteem and trust in the world. Children who feel loved grow up to be stable and peaceful adults.

@arunima25 parents should be like this only.. spending time with children makes the parent-child bond stronger and child is able to express their feelings and thoughts without hesitation.

@FaruMesh I am quite busy these days with my school work and my daughter's studies. I get very little time to be online and it is tough to keep up with notifications in that short time.

@arunima25 That's what happens when we don't peep in for one or two days, notifications will pile up. Me too like to clear all the notifications even if it take time..

I was missing in action from cyberspace in last three days. Most of my time in this long weekend was for my family.Now, I would be back to work from tomorrow.

Hope you have enjoyed the lunch.
I had a normal working day. It rained today which made the weather pleasant. I was a bit tired today so had a nap in the afternoon.
My kids also have a maths exam tomorrow so they were busy with their studies.
In all, it's a good day. Tomorrow I have an off so will enjoy a day with the family.

@just4him We do not have classes on Saturday and Sunday here till Grade 10. But now she is in Grade 12 and that is preuniversity here. Thye have few extra classes on Saturdays from time to time. They have to prepare for getting into good universities soon.
