As our cook took an unexpected leave today i had to manage my breakfast by myself.. I didn't feel like eating anything from outside;so i decided to cook something by myself. I had some Maggie packets at home (noodles). So decided to cook it as it is the easiest to make (i was wrong) I believe nobody can screw up making noodles like i did I thought only adding the taste maker would do good.and didn't even added extra salt. I made it for our househelp too and she refused to eat it by just the looks of it. I need to learn cooking as soon as possible

Uh Oh I think you need a lot of learning to do because cooking is a daily grind, Necessary for sustenance and growth. Watch cooking shows on youtube. Easy enough to follow.

What did you do with it? Cook it for 20 min? We also had house help but none of them were any good....always stealing food. So, my mother made them leave. But since neither my mother nor my grandma can cook everything everyday, I took the whole thing on myself. I started cooking regularly since 12. And except for some items, can cook everything including non veg. And yes. You need to learn dear. Both my ma and grandma were spoiled by their parents. So, they cannot cook very fast. They praise me so!

@ThatDisha Oh I understand. Yes, hostels can never help in cooking. Well, you may learn now then. Anyway my mother and grandmother were also brought up like that. No chores specially entering in the kitchen. While it's good since they're both smart but they often forget to eat anything. Sometimes they even eat roti and sauce. And as you know outside food in india is not at all healthy so. I had to start.

That's so nice that you can cook everything and help your ma and nanima...i didn't get to spend so much time at home as my parents sent me to boarding school when i was in 6th grade and i used to spend my holiday at my paternal grandparent's home, my grandfather hate to see my mother or me doing any household chores even if it's making our own bed... while living in hostel i brushed up my other household skill but never got chance to brush up my culinary skills and hence this is happening

Whoops! I have had plenty of cooking disasters but unless it is completely inedible I always eat most of it anyway. Some things are only minor disasters and other things are a problem.

Noodles are the only ones which I can make otherwise I don't know cooking. You could have asked your household to taste it doesn't go to the looks.

@ThatDisha I taste my noodles and pasta at times to see if it’s cooked enough. An additional two minutes sounds way too long.

At least you tried and realized that you have long way to go.. Keep trying. Don't lose heart. Our mistakes help us learn in life. All the best. PS - Atleast you have the guts to admit that you could not cool noodles properly.
