Love birds cannot survive in the open. They are instantly killed by other birds for reasons unknown . They therefore need to be kept in cages. I never liked the idea of keeping them in cages and so built a huge area with all what they needed and enclosed it with a nylon net. We were very happy to see them but alas the next morning they were all gone with feathers strewn on the floor. The cats had got in tearing the nylon net.

The birds are kept in the cage for their safety. Sad to know that birds were killed. You should have been more careful as you have cats too.

Who could have known they would tear into those nylon nets. They were not kept in the open but protected by covering the space with the net. I am fully aware of my responsibility

@allknowing cats are very smart they can engulf the net for the prey. Who told you are not aware of your responsibility?

@sjvg1976 You said that I should have been careful - what does that mean.

Sorry the cats got in. You could use a heavier wire to build a nice aviary and have more.
