Hypertension Spikes with the Voodoo Chant

I am sure some of you read about the sentiments against my neighbors. Their bad noises were tolerated by us for a long time. But then, I lost my temper when they do a voodoo chant at 6:00 AM last month. I literally shouted, threatened, and be reported to the local government unit (LGU) if they keep on doing this. Since then, they never attempt to do it. Now, I am confused about what kind of religion are they practicing? I am tired of being Mr. Nice Guy to these insensitive people. If you were in my situation, are you not going to get mad?

aren't they natives there performing certain traditions? But even if that is the case doing it within your neighborhood at a very early time is not nice

You got my point. They are a known religion in our country. I was so surprised that they did this. If they do this again, I am sorry to say that they will be reported to the barangay here.

@rakski Let's see how long they will be in silence. That will be the first and last encounter with them.

if they are from Haiti, it might be Vadu (sometimes called voodoo)!

They are not, my friend. They are just here in the Philippines and making our world upside down.

@Shavkat well that was the easy answer, Voodoo or Vadu is a global religion now.

@DocAndersen I did not know that it is a religion now. But I am sure they are not practicing this. They are just mocking the others for not complaining. Not for me, they will see my evil side.

You have every right to complain about it if it disturbs your peace. I think you should also ask neighbors to support your complaint against them too.

@Shavkat Hopefully you can persuade them to join your cause since that neighbor of yours can easily dismiss that other neighbors are not complaining about it.

Oh, my. The other neighbors are passive. We cannot rely on them. With this particular family, I made it clear that if they keep on doing these insensitive activities, I will meet them in barangay.

@rsa101 I think it is not their persona to do this. My mom and I had observed this since we came here in a new neighborhood.

Did you get to know what they were chanting about or the reason for such?

I think they are provoking us to react. They did have the best shout from me. I threatened them to be reported in our barangay if they continue this chanting thing. I won't dare to ask them about it because I don't care about their religion. They need to be sensitive enough not to bother the neighbors.

You make me wonder what religion is they're practicing too. I meant, it's voodoo we're talking about here.

@Shavkat I see. So what exactly does their chanting do for them or at least what they believe will do for them?

@allen0187 I do not know what runs into their minds when they did this. As for me, it is not acceptable. Besides, it is my first time to do voodoo chanting with respect to their religion. Perhaps they are experimenting.

Yes, it is a voodoo thing. It is not their religion if you are going to ask. I will give you a hint. Their religion always claimed that they are the only people who will be saved on judgment day. @allen0187

No, it is not. They are deliberately doing it. I do not need to know them because I had seen their real colors.
