Day 78 2 Samuel 2:1 And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah?” And the LORD said unto him, “Go up.” And David said, “Whither shall I go up?” And he said, “Unto Hebron.” 2 So David went up thither, and his two wives also, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail Nabal’s wife the Carmelite. 3 And his men that were with him did David bring up, every man with his household: and they dwelt in the cities of Hebron. (KJV) When your life takes a sudden turn, you need to decide what to do next. Sometimes those decisions include a change of address. How do you decide where you will live? For most of us, it’s a matter of looking for what’s available. It’s filling out applications, looking at options, and hope you find a new place to call home. Saul is dead. Jonathon is dead. David learned they died in the battle on Mount Gilboa. David needed to know what to do next. He asked God. God told him to return to Hebron. As Christians, where you live should be a matter of prayer. You don’t want to live just anywhere. You want to live where you will do your best for the kingdom of God. How do you know where God wants you to live if you don’t ask Him? When you put your home in His hands, He will pave the way in every detail of your move. I guarantee the move will be smooth. One day, we will all make a final move when we move from our temporary home to our permanent home with Jesus in heaven. Have you put the details in God’s hands? Let’s pray: Father, thank you for showing me my new home and making the way easy as You take care of all the details. Help me look to You in everything as I settle into a new lifestyle and make new friends. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
