Clint Hayworth who uses a metal detector as a hobby when he is not working as a postal employee in Ponce Inlet Florida made Donald Brandl who is living in Alabama as an employee for NASA a very happy man that his class ring from high school is being sent to him by Clint via mail.
Donald lost his class ring in the Ponce Inlet beach in 1987 when he attended Oviedo High School on senior ditch day attending a beach party.
Clint who is a member of the Daytona Dig and Find Club found the class ring in the same place in the beach where Donald lost the ring by using his metal detector when the tide at the was low.
Clint found the ring on the beach last Saturday. When he and members of his club cleaned up the ring, they played the role of detective to locate the owner of the ring by using the clues from the class ring before they located the name of Donald E Brandal from the initials on the ring.
Clint contacted Donald via Facebook to share the good news that the lost high school class ring was found.
Donald is a very happy person to learn that it must have been Divine Intervention that despite many hurricanes that traveled through the beach, the class ring was still there in the sand.
Metal detectors are very useful items to locate missing objects made out of metal that are returned to their owners.

My pleasure to share these stories. I am also amazed that the ring did not leave the area due to the storms.

That is wonderful that the ring was returned,. However, I can tell you I still have mine but it just sits in my jewelry case and when I am gone who will care,

That's really something to get back a ring after 34 years. I'm glad that Clint took the effort to find the owner.

I would like to get a metal detector myself to see if I find anything of value myself.
