I know many have talked about losing weight and part of losing weight is exercising. I used to do diets when I was little because I always had a weight problem. I found I could lose weight but not keep it off. I used to lose weight for others and never myself. About 4 years ago I finally took a look at myself in the mirror and hated what I saw and so I decided to start out slow giving up things and eventually got to a point where I can look at food and not want it and be proud of myself for giving up cookies and candy and walking past them and not wanting them. I exercise on my own and also on the computer. I eat two meals a day and stopped snacking in between meals and just drink something. I am very proud of myself in the weight that I lost and went down in clothes sizes too. I know several here have found their weight loss path too. Congratulations on the weight that you have lost. When I talk about diets not working that is not working for me. If others have found diets that work for them then that is good.

You are welcome for the information. Thank you and I always remember that I do not want to be that fat person again so I have to continue to work hard at it keeping the weight off and maintaining it and we have a lot of holidays coming up next week and the rest of this month so will work hard at not overeating.

Congratulations on losing weight.
I never have issues about losing weight but i had issues in gaining weight thats why i eat as much as i want and as many times a day as i want.

Oh yes it was too difficult. There was even a time when I’d take supplements including weight gain protein milk and pills. But I found the perfect solution and that’s eating at exactly the same time every single day. @Hannihar

Thank you and it must be hard when you want to gain weight to eat all you want and it does not work. I never had that problem. I was fat off and on my life but 4 years ago I did it for me and have been doing good my way.

Is there something special like walking or something else that can help you lose weight that you can do? It is hard to lose and keep the weight off I found.

You are so right it is a challenge to lose the weight. It is even harder keeping it off. I try not to snack in between meals and that helps and since I only eat two meals a day that also helps and fasting is so much easier for me now. We have some fast days coming up this month for our holidays.

Thank you. When I first started out doing it I wanted to weight to go off right away but then thought it has to do it gradually in order for it to work and for 4 years I have been doing good. It was very hard but now I can look at food and not really want it.

Thanks Ruby. Actually it is not a diet. It is my own journey I have been doing for the past 4 years now. I do a lot of walking and all my life I have struggled with my weight until I decided to do something for me finally and no one else. It is a lot of work and I know I do not want to be that fat person ever again so it is a lot of hard work. The good thing is that when we have fast days I can fast easily and am not hungry.

diets are a struggle for many of us. in the end you are right. it is not a diet, it is a lifestyle.

I did gained weight due to this pandemic and I don't like what I saw in the mirror too
I started with low impact cardio exercise and I tried intermittent diet.
I lost like 6kgs in a month and still hoping to lose more 4kilos to get back on track

Thank you very much. I needed to do something because I hated buying clothes and looking at myself in them. I do not diet anymore. I found a way for me that works and that is giving up things and eating less of others and I do walk a lot and exercise too. You are right that people need to find some way of exercising that they will continue to do it. I like my walking program online but on our Sabbath and certain Jewish holidays I cannot do it on the computer so have to do more on my own.
