So, if you haven't seen my previous discussion, I was having persistent issue with my tooth that the dentist had advised me to get it removed as it is badly decayed. And today is the day we fixed to get this sorted out finally. I would be lying if I say that I didn't feel a bit jittery as it is my first dental procedure in my life, but as they say everything has a first time. They gave a local anaesthesia and then almost scooped out the remaining of the teeth, only discomfort I felt was to keep the mouth distended for long. Some blood loss happened and they stitched the place and they advised me to have cold ice cream after 1 hour. Now I am at home waiting to have the ice cream . Because the rest of the day I should be only having all mashed foods and liquids .What a start to the weekend! See you later, bye! Image courtesy :- google.com

Thanks, just now I had my ice cream. A bit odd experience as the anaesthesia effect is still there and I cannot move my tongue much.

Eat only cold food for a couple of day, do you have a pain killer should you feel pain? Ibuprofen works.

I had done it in my municipal dental clinic. It is quite cheap here so not a big dent in my pocket.

I hope you feel better quickly... I've had to have two teeth removed, years ago. The dentist pushed down, pushed down and the tooth was gone. It didn't want to stop bleeding so I put an unused tea leaves on the tooth hole. The bleeding stopped right away. Be careful what you eat. If you knock the scab out of the tooth hole it can cause problems and hurt really bad. (My daughter had to have a tooth pulled. She wasn't careful and got an infection in the tooth hole.)

@Sojourn We have some stuff you can rub into the gum below the tooth hole. It is called Anbesol and it numbs the hurt. I hope you've got something like it there.

Good that your bleeding stopped. I am feeling a bit of pain now as the anaesthesia has weared out.

I hope not to experience it. Haha am nervous. I first had toothache at 45 years old. Glad the dentist didn't remove my tooth. My number 27 tooth fell alone.

It happened a month ago. I would have been glad had it fell alone too because I hated the tooth extraction process.

When i had my tooth removed by a dentist, i had to fast on food and drinks for 3 hours in order to stop the bleeding which it did. Just stub in the gauze into the hole

I kept the gauze for an hour or so and then I took an ice cream and fortunately any bleeding stopped.
