Thoughts on Prayer 1

I John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
Jeremiah 29:12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
James 5:13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.
Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
These are just four of the numerous verses on prayer. I think, sometimes we Christians take prayer for granted. We don’t realize its power. We lose sight of it being our communication vehicle with God. We allow it to become nothing more than a ritual or rambling.
But prayer is the most sacred and powerful tool in life. Tonight, I had the privilege of being a member of a new ladies prayer group. The three of us felt peace and empowered after going to our Savior in prayer. Then my husband and I did our nightly devotional, and guess what? It was on prayer. Charles Hadden Spurgeon wrote this:
A prayerless soul is a Christless soul.
Prayer is the lisping of the believing infant,
The shout of the fighting believer,
The requiem of the dying saint falling asleep in Jesus.
It is the breath, the watchword, the comfort, the strength,
the honor of the Christian.
~MORNING AND EVENING by Charles Spurgeon~
I think maybe God was trying to tell me something. And I pray that I will always listen. If you have been neglecting the discipline of prayer, you can always begin again, right now.

I won't get the vaccine either. There are so many things in this world that is out of our control. I am learning more and more, everyday that God is in control. Nothing takes Him by surprise. When I am faithful to pray, He is faithful to lead me to answers and to provide strength and peace.
