There has always been as long as I can remember and I am 60 years old that places such as, court houses, government buildings, non government buildings, schools, restaurant's and stores fly their flags at half staff in memory and respect for people that have died. On Saturday the great, funny and nice man Willard Scott passed away, who was a weather man for the NBC network and the original Ronald McDonald for the McDonald's restaurants. I went out to find that the McDonald's restaurants did not have their flags at half staff!

Unfortunately it seems respect has gone out many's windows. This is sad to read.

It has gone out the window!!!!!!! This thing is so sad. When I was a little girl we used to see Mr Scott in the stores. He always remembered our names and our parents. As a weather man he had people write in with their picture when it was going to be their 100th birthday. He showed respect, so he should of been treated that way too!

I wouldn't think theyd have to do that for a weather man.

He wasn't just a weather man, he was the original Ronald McDonald for McDonald's.

That is very sad, I remember those times also when flags were at half-mast for respect to someone, Gues respect has become as old-fashioned as I m,

I didn't know that he was the original Ronald McDonald. Obviously they have a short memory.

They sure did! Yes and for awhile he was Bozo the Clown too. He was a weather man for NBC. He was a super nice man, when I was a kid we saw him in the store a lot.
