Rain Wonderful Rain

The day before yesterday I woke to the sound of rain. We have been having heat in the 90s and the haze from the fires has been heavy in the air. But the rain came as such a nice relief and cleared the air. That familiar tapping on the roof. That tickling of the leaves in the trees and spattering on the sidewalk. Oh, and the glorious fresh air smell of rain.

I don't care for the rain when it comes for days and days at a time. The occasional sprinkle is a nice refresher.

Oh, I love rain. I would love to be somewhere that I could really just enjoy listening to it. This is a fairly noisy city, and even a good rainfall doesn't do much to dampen that.
Snow is better at getting things to quiet down. Then, the city is really beautiful-- almost magical.

@wilsongoddard ........After nearly falling down out in the parking lot here a few years ago I don't care for the snow and ice anymore.

@celticeagle Having spent quite a few years in New England, I definitely agree about the staying (mostly) inside and just enjoying the snowy view. I love snow, but some of the wickedly cold temps weren't so great.

@celticeagle The sun did come out for a while but then it got very windy, and rained overnight. Same today.

I'm so glad somewhere is getting rain who is in the path of the wildfires. I wish more of the west would get rain.
