Which is kind of crude, but it cost me less money than a fancy-schmancy ant moat. Hopefully it will keep most of the ants off the hummingbird feeder.
LOL--when I hear the word "moat", I remember my now-sixteen-year-old nephew as a toddler saying "'Mote! 'Mote!" when he wanted the T.V. remote.
I did Bible study out on the patio today, and while I was sitting there, a hummingbird hovered pretty close to me and looked at me as if to say "Would you do something about these ants, already!?!?"
After I was done with Bible study I went in and got a Solo cup, grabbed the gardening wire, a pair of scissors and a tack and went to work. After I was done I put some sugar and water in the cup, and there it is.
Hopefully soon I'll find more ants floating in the cup than crawling on the hummingbird feeder.
