Either a failure on my part I wasn't as attentive in my Religion classes or the failure on the part of my educators for omitting the feast in the said classes. Nonetheless, I know about it now because the preachers talked lengthily about the capital punishment the Romans subjected slaves, et al, yesterday. It was also the manner of death of our Lord. Painful. Viewpoints on pain vary: Buddhists meditate to take the pain away while Hindus consider pain an illusion. Einstein was mystified by the universe being intelligible. He explains that Newton's Law - for every action is a corresponding reaction - somehow affirms the Buddhists and the Hindus. But not the Christian moral sphere. Take for example good people grimaced in pain and succumbed to death because of cancer yet there was a Stalin who persecuted 25 million but died quietly in sleep.
