Day 101
2 Kings 19:1 And it came to pass, when King Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.
2 And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
3 And they said unto him, “Thus says Hezekiah, ‘This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.
4 “It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left.”
5 So the servants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
6 And Isaiah said unto them, “Thus shall ye say to your master, ‘Thus says the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
7 ‘Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumor, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.”
What do you do when people come against you and everything you believe? Do you go to those you trust to stand with you and pray with you? Or do you give in?
Hezekiah was king in Judah. Assyria took Israel captive and came up against Judah to do the same. Yet, unlike many of the kings before him, Hezekiah believed in God. He followed His laws and statutes. He would not compromise his belief but sent a message to Isaiah to pray to God on behalf of Judah.
As Christians, it’s easy to give in, compromise your faith and follow the crowd. It’s easy to listen to words spoken against God and do nothing. It’s hard to stand up for your faith and stand against all those who come against you. You need people you can trust who will stand with you and pray with you and rebuke those who come against you. You know they who come against you follow Satan and do his will.
God promised to stand with you against Satan. He promised to protect you and fight for you. You are never alone in battle. Satan isn’t your head, Jesus is. Jesus crushed him on the cross and gave you authority over Satan.
Don’t back down before him. Don’t tuck your tail between your legs and flee in fear. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. As Jesus used Scripture against Satan, you have Scripture to use against him too. When you do, he will flee from you. When you stand in the power and might of Jesus, your Savior, He will fight for you.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for fighting my battles and causing Satan to flee when I use Your Word against him. Help me recognize Satan’s schemes and send him running. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

I try my best to stand firm in my spiritual beliefs since Bible history has shown that many of God's servants in the Old Testament when they stood firm on their beliefs gained the respect of their enemies like Daniel and Joseph.
