@CarolDM gave us the most delicious candy recipe that I've made twice now, so this afternoon when I was really wanting something sweet from the oven, I made peanut butter cookies with walnuts and white chocolate chips. The usual recipe is just one cup of peanut butter, one egg, one cup of sugar, and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. It's gluten free (no flour), so my husband can eat them too. Before I baked them, I threw in some white chocolate chips and chopped English walnuts. So yummy! I'm trying not to eat so awfully many, but I'm not making any promises. The last batch is ready to take out of the oven, so I'll talk to y'all later. Thanks again Carol!

Absolutely! You've heard "out of sight, out of mind"? With me it's "out of sight, out of mouth."

@LindaOHio Same for me. It helps if I have them out of sight. Well, a little.

It's so versatile. You could add some oats, pecans, chocolate chips, most any add-ins.

Do not feel guilty and enjoy your candy. I remember this delicious recipe, I still have to buy hazelnuts or almonds butter to try to make it, I cannot have peanuts.

I didn't remember that you can't have peanuts. Are you allergic to them?

@1creekgirl I read the labels of all products I buy, but I avoid to buy ready made pastries and cookies, as they often use peanuts oil. This is my only known allergy, I am a bit intolerant to lactose, I avoid some kind of cheese.

@LadyDuck I remember that now. I'm sure you are very, very careful. Do you have any other allergies?

It has been ages since I made any cookies. Should really get into the kitchen. I like making oatmeal cookies
