Is white water okay?

Our water supply now has change. When you open the faucet with high pressure or strong force the water turns white. I dip my hands and I cannot see it. Wait for some minute and I can see my hands meaning the water is clear. Maybe you haven't experience that. What makes it white?

It reminds me of when I was a kid, my grandpa's bathroom faucet had water coming out at a very high pressure and it looked indeed white. I was like "this faucet is so cool, water is white". Then I think you've already got the answer.

The white color is caused by air bubbles, it is safe to drink. After the water comes out of your tap, it is no longer under pressure, the air forms very tiny bubbles that cause the water to look white.

My aunt said it must be chemicals added to water. If it is just tiny air bubbles it's okay

@averygirl72 No the chemicals are usually without color, but you can smell them.

Try to smell it, if it smells like bleach, it contains lots of chlorine. That's what comes out of our faucet especially in the morning. But if it is odorless, maybe those are bubbles...

That's the thing I can do. I don't notice the smell. It seems soaps don't make a lot of bubbles with this kind of water

Air bubbles mixing with high pressure water causes a milky look but clears in a minute or so. There's nothing wrong with it.

If no smell it is just from the pressure. But you could call your water company and ask if they have changed anything

It is the pressure that makes it bubbly when you turn on your faucet.
