Have you ever felt as if God was not hearing your prayer? Or maybe He heard but for some reason was not answering you? I know I have been in situations where I am crying out to God saying things like “I am begging you for an answer. I will accept it, just tell me something. “ It hit me today, we are not going to get complete answers unless we are also reading the Word. I don’t just mean and little verse every now and then for a quick devotional. I don’t even mean deep study for a particular topic or Bible study. Those things are great, but we have got to read the Bible for no other reason than to hear from God. We look for God’s voice in everything but His Word.
Hebrews 4:12-16
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
God will speak to us. He will expose us. He will convict us.
14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
God will also heal us and restore us. We can only truly understand who God is when we spend time just hanging out with Him. He is Savior, Redeemer, priest, prophet, king, and Lord. But we only get to experience all of who he is as we spend time with Him.
I have two best friends. I love spending time with them, conversing, praying, laughing. It is not just enough to drop them a message every now and then. I want to spend quality time with them. God wants that of us, and we know we have been transformed when we want that of Him. We will hear from Him when the lines of communication because hanging out with the Father instead of us just sending out requests.

I spend a lot of time in prayer. You are so blessed to have friends to pray with, I wish that I did.
