Birds, birds, birds

So my husband and I were sitting in the family room yesterday afternoon. I glanced out the sliding door as some birds flying by distracted me. I got up and watched as bird after bird after bird flew into the trees in our yard and the ones next door. They all came from the same direction. This went on for a good 10-15 minutes from the time I noticed. When I opened the door I could hear them all chirping away loudly. What a chorus of singing birds! The last time this happened for me was when we were leaving my mother's house to go to the funeral home to prepare my dad's funeral arrangements. We walked out the back door to a plethora of birds chirping. This was the end of February. My mother said she never heard it again. I thought it was a sign since my family last name is Bird. I looked up what it means. Apparently prosperity and abundance are coming our way. I like to think of it as a visit from all the members of the Bird family that have gone before me. Has this ever happened to you? What do you think of it? The attached picture(s) I purchased for our living room after my girls redecorated. I also have many bird statues etc around my house.

I have had different signs yes but not birds. I like that if it is indeed a sign of abundance for you. Cool your name is also Bird.

My mother had a fake tree, a tree of branches, in a room in one of her residences. She had all her birds hanging there. After my mother passed we got to choose some birds. I have a snow globe with 2 cardinals in it. I asked my husband if we could leave it out year round. He was okay with that. My father used to introduce himself as "John The Bird". So I have a photo my mother had of my father when he was really young and she put a newspaper clipping in the bottom of the frame that says "It's a Bird". I have decided, upon receiving a visitation from my father, to publish under my maiden name in honour of my parents.

@JudyEv Don't know how my husband feels about it, but getting published hasn't happened yet and I'm guessing he don't think I ever will. After my father passed he came to me and showed me a newspaper with a winning short story by the name of someone with my first name and my maiden name. I took that as a direct message.

@patgalca That's a nice thing to do - to publish under your maiden name.

Speaking of flying and your girls, is the one who worked for an airline back at it?

She was permanently laid off from the airlines. They decided to go with contracted workers when covid hit. She got 10 years of free flying as part of her compensation (she only worked there something like 5-7 years). She is still working, and back at it, at the security screening at the airport.

I hang out with the book community on Instagram and there are a lot of people who make book sleeves and sell them on Etsy (book marks too - like how many does one person need?). I didn't need a book sleeve and the only one who did custom orders was in the States. I had the large one custom ordered. She sent me the small one by mistake so she did the bigger one at no charge.

I do too. If we don't get more money our way my husband will force me to move as he believes it is way too expensive to keep living here.

@rakski He wants to pull up stakes out of Ontario where I was born and raised and move to his home province of Prince Edward Island. During this pandemic the Island locked themselves off from the rest of the country and world for over a year. You had to get special permission to go there. If a situation like this were to happen again I wouldn't see my children and possibly grandchildren. My sister has a daughter with 3 children in the U.S. and she didn't get to see them for almost 2 years. Everyone I know when they retire move TOWARDS their children and grandchildren, not AWAY.
