This sermon by Joel Osteen has a very simple principle. If you want God to help you solve your problems you should learn to help others with problems too. We must let go of our problems and give it to God and look around us and find who has a problem and make a way to help them.
I want God to bless my store so whenever I see poor people or beggars I now do my best to help them.

This reminds me nf a conversation I had with my niece yesterday who I have noticed is self centred. I hinted that she should think of others for a change.

It's an old principle that I came to know repeatedly from my parents and then my university professor. Nobody has mentioned God then but al said the same thing. Pay it forward is what I believe in.
