I couldn't believe it. Around 5pm my friend stops by. I walk to the parking lot to meet her, and we walk back up the one flight of stairs into my apartment. About 30 minutes she gets ready to leave, opens my front door and and we both gasp. You guys, a foot in front of my front door, a part of my landing collapsed. I could see the floor below me. The concrete is hanging between the floors. I kid you not. I edged back to my front door, and called the apartment's emergency number. They say they can't do anything until Monday so they won't even come look at it. I can't believe it. So to get downstairs I edge around a foot of concrete, to get to two feet free and clear to the stairs. I wonder, does this mean my actual apartment could collaspe. This is unbelievable.

That sounds scary to think that it might use collapse. How old is that apartment building?

I know I would be scared if the building where you live has a part of the floor collapse. I used to deliver pizzas in New Orleans in two story buildings where climbing up the stairs was scary.

Did you ever get answers on this situation? I don't see how they could ignore it until Monday seems that should be illegal. Has it been fixed by now? I certainly hope so.
