The things you find when out and about!

Today I had a few errands to do in the nearby town, and it was a lovely morning so I set off on my bike. And it’s surprising what you see when out and about, but travelling at a bit more of a leisurely pace than when driving.
I’ve found all kinds of odd things before along the roadside - litter of all sorts of course, and a few odd gloves, but also several pairs of smart gloves, a pair of socks, a nice woolly hat, several ‘L’ plates (for learner drivers), a few tools, a scarf, a humorous mug, several glasses, a few shopping bags - all of which I’ve taken home and washed and most are now in use here.
Today though must have been the strangest find so far - an artist’s palette in the undergrowth at the roadside, with a few dead leaves sticking to the still-wet paint.
How on Earth did that get there? And why?? Well I picked it up and stuck it in my bicycle basket, and in due course brought it home, because Big One has mentioned that she wanted one. And when Big One got back from school she was most excited by my find!
What’s the strangest thing you have found when out?

That is certainly an unusual find.
When I was a child, I would find interesting things on my parents' property. One interesting find was a squirrel figurine. Unfortunately, all of my fossil collection disappeared early on. My parents didn't think that such things were important, so they weren't allowed into the house.

My husband finds abandoned puppies. Not a strange find but a sad one. Also an expensive one when they grow into hungry dogs....

You really do find interesting items when you take your time. I know someone who found an old typewriter in some shallow snow.

I used to ride my pony a lot but in the bush or through our paddocks. I found sheep stuck on their backs or empty troughs or windmills that should have turned off but didn't so I quite the saviour sometimes.
In the bush, and being on horseback, I'd see a lot of wildlife that wouldn't hear us approaching.
