I was bestowed an amazing gift of Inked Kingdom in an ARC over the weekend. On October 4th, I finally got to sit down and read it.
it took me only a few hours. Part of the reason is that it's a relatively short story. It may even qualify as a novella. The other part was that I was pulled in. Absolutely pulled into this new world that also gives a glimpse of a world that I grew to love before this came out.
Stone Anderson had tried to run. He wanted out of the mafia life for good. It killed his family and the one girl, his forever, had escaped this life and never looked back. It was his time.
The problem with the life is that you never get out unless the King wants you out. That rarely ever happened.
After getting the beating of his life, the Cleaner gives him a way out and he grabs ahold of it and runs.
Stone always knew where Sarina was. He had to keep her safe, it was only one of the reasons he had stayed behind.
When Sarina lays eyes on him for the first time in years, he couldn't blame her for running.
It was going to take time and in the mean time Stone had to heal and figure out who he was now that he wasn't mafia anymore.
Neither are the same person they were before they got out. Sarina made a new life and had friends. Now Stone has to do the same.
Will they have that time though, or will the King want what's his back?
I would definitely recommend this book. It was short but it draws you in. It made me want to find more of them. They're supposed to be stand alone novels in a multi author series.
