Mild panic

I overslept this morning. I use my phone as an alarm and it must have gone off four times before I heard it.That does not leave me much internet time at all. I still need to brush my teeth and pack my lunch. I think I needed that extra twenty minutes, though. If I had never heard it, I definitely would have heard the alarm clock that goes off at 6. I would have been more panicked, but I would have been okay. Are there any other back up systems I need to set up? If I slept through the alarm clock, chances are I would be sick, but the bus driver needs someone on the bus before he leaves town at 7:15. I did take a nap yesterday afternoon as well. Guess swimming wore me out.

My hubby's alarm goes off before mine and he sets mine, but today he forgot to set it. I woke about 30 minutes late. It isn't the end of the world because with working from home I don't have the traffic to contend with, and if push came to shove I could always shower and do my hair on my break. I have done that before. I didn't have to, in fact I had a little time to spend on the site here. Have a great day today.

Swimming is very relaxing and that is probably the reason

Mostly, swimming with my student is "child wrangling" and so it was exhausting, He did not want to get out and he did not want to get dressed, etc.

Pretty is usually awake when I need to get up so I tell her if she hasn't heard me moving around before whatever time, to make sure I'm awake. I don't know if your hubby would do that for you or not.

He would, except he sleeps much later than I do.

@GardenGerty Oh, yeah, that wouldn't help then. Pretty and I don't have the same sleep schedule so that works in our favor.

You were probably tired from a busy day or you might need to get to bed earlier.

We overslept this morning, too. Although, I didn't technically need to be up, but my oversleeping ended up meaning that my husband overslept-- and he actually did need to be up. I usually don't sleep that late, but I woke up in the middle of the night and had stayed up for like four hours. That isn't exactly conducive to being properly rested, which is something that I struggle with anyways.

Right now I am not having trouble with middle of the night wakefulness, but I have in the past and that is rough.

The first cool days are making me sleepy, I get up as soon as I wake up because I fear to get asleep again for hours.

Right. I do not hit a snooze button or anything. If I hear the alarm, I get up. I usually hear the first alarm.

@GardenGerty I do not need an alarm anymore as we are both retired, but I always wake up at the same time.

The volume of smart phone alarm is too low to wake you.

I agree. And it is a bunch of "people" singing "Good Morning, Good Morning". I am considering putting it inside a metal decorative can to magnify the volume. That works for some people.

You sometimes over sleep when you are totally relaxed or when overworked.
