Upper cabinets done, old lowers torn out

Today they will lay the flooring and set the lower cabinets and put on the drawer fronts that came in. We're missing about eight of those. The lowers will all be drawers. We then need to go to Lowes once more to talk about Lowes installing the countertop which we've already picked out. We hoping they do that and aren't backed up otherwise we'll be eating out for more than a week or so. We won't have the use of our stove after today. The new one comes next week and then my brother needs to come put a 220 electrical line in for that. After that the workers will return to put in baseboards, the sink and kitchen plumbing, but that may not be for a week or so but maybe right after the countertops get put in at least. So we getting there. Maybe by the end of the month I can return to Ikea for drawer inserts and that type of thing. I'm hoping to get the missing drawer fronts right from their store and we're have a cabinet to return also.

Little by little it's getting done, I am so glad for you. I know how much it is uncomfortable not to have our kitchen to use.

@MarshaMusselman You can start loading up everything you know you want to place there.

The worker thought we could start loading up all the uppers but I want to put a lot into the lowers first and the drawers are being started on Tuesday. After that I'll figure out the uppers, although I'll be putting fancy plates I don't use much yet on there your shelves out of the way.

@RubyHawk the hardest part is not having a sink in the kitchen. We using the tops of two drawers as a short of surface until the counter comes in and we have boxes flattened over the rest.

I've not had one either for about ten or more years. There isn't one in that picture. There's one in the basement if we decide to use it but it would be used mainly for the light as the fan would just blow into the room.

It's coming along nicely Marsha. It's certainly going to look wonderful when it's finished.

We're missing about seven drawer fronts which is making it hard to put them all together. But I knew when I ordered that some would be missing they just don't specify which ones will still be needed.

It's looking good. Still, a lot to do before you're finished. I hope IKEA has the drawer fronts you're missing.

If they don't have them in stock or might mean ordering them and waiting for delivery. But I should be able to fill the drawers before those fronts are on.

I love how the upper cabinets are looking. I can't wait for everything to be done.

The floor took longer than expected but other than outside edges it's almost done too. They had to remove two doors that were too long. They might shave some of the bottom off.
