Missing item in Amazon delivery

Hubby decided to order card holders for his friend who has a huge collection of sports cards. It was supposed to be a birthday present. Since he doesn't have an Amazon account I ordered it from mine. There were supposed to be 4 boxes of these card holders in the shipment. His friend's wife texted us and said the packing slip said 4 boxes but the shipment only had 3. I went to Amazon and found a way to send a message about the missing item. I thought I would be chatting with someone but it just seemed to send a message to the seller. Then I found a way to actually chat to an Amazon person. I told him what happened and immediately he created a replacement order for that one item. It should arrive by the 14th of October. After I did that I went into my orders to see if this replacement order shows up in my account. That's when I discovered that my original order seems to have two separate deliveries on the same day. One with three items in it and one with one item in it. However, the picture in the delivery email shows only one box left on the porch. Not sure if they actually shipped everything in one box and only put three items instead of four, or if there were two separate shipments, which seems to be the case. Where is the second box then? Hubby's friend's wife said she will look around her property when she gets home from work to see if there is any other box anywhere. She told me there was nothing in the mailbox.

I've had that happen before. The second usually arrived within a day or two of the first.

Oh no Lena, good of Amazon to take care of it, but now you may have duplicates. You could put your husband on your Amazon account couldnt you too just as a thought?

The friend's wife looked and said she doesn't see any package anywhere. She thinks maybe the guy left the other box in the truck. If that box appears better for them. More card holders.

My only other thought is maybe someone took it but then why would someone take only one box?

The one item that was missing from the delivery was shipped today. Hopefully, it comes when they say it will.

As I mentioned in the discussion the Amazon rep did a replacement order for that one item, which should arrive this week. But as far as were there two separate deliveries or not I have no idea. I did not ask him about that because I didn't notice that my original order showed two separate deliveries on the same day until after I finished my chat with him.

I only order books from amazon before, so never had experience of missing items. but our local online shops did that many times, so for expensive stuff, we will open it with holding camera / video on, so we had evidence
