Bro!

"Bro" is this generation's "dude". Teenagers cannot get out more than 2 sentences without addressing the person they are talking to as "bro" or "bruh". It is so obnoxious. I get furious when my students call ME that. Um, I'm not your "bro". I started pointing it out to 2 boys in my last class of the day last week. Every time they said it I would repeat it. The girls in the class kept laughing because they could barely utter a sentence without saying it. It is annoying. For the past few years I've been most annoyed by the students saying "my bad" instead of "I'm sorry". This has surpassed that.

I will call everyone dude or bro unless they tell me not to, unless they are an authority figure, except for teachers I had that I formed a friendship with. I never really been bothered with it, but maybe because I am from the younger generations that do say things like that all the time and we all call each other bros, guys, dudes, and all that. There is a time and a place to say them, but sometimes it is just a habit.

In a few years they'll come up with something equally annoying.

I don't like it when they use the term Bro so often either. I have to say that I have never heard anyone say Bruh, and I hope that I never do.

Perhaps because we are in a place where English is second language ,we are saved from such unbecoming language.

Once here at mylot someone responded one of my posts addressing me as "dude". It was not funny! I am not thinking all the time about my age but at 76 I´m certainly NOT anyone´s dude or Bro.

How kids talk these days reminds me of my teen years when the talk was "Man" or "Dude". It drives me nuts that people say "Bro" or "Bruh" to address another person.
