The news confuses me as always. Trump sues yet again?

I former President Donald Trump is innocent of any wrong-doing concerning the Jan. 6 2021 insurrection at the US Capitol, why would a not want a complete investigation of the event?
But he is apparently suing to block the investigation's publication, or at least the scope of the publication.
OK, I am confusing even myself.
I will have to read the article again. Right now I have to head to Guitar Center to teach piano.
----
WASHINGTON (AP) — Former President Donald Trump on Monday sought to block the release of documents related to the Jan. 6 insurrection to the congressional committee investigating the attack, challenging the decision of President Joe Biden.
In a federal lawsuit, Trump said the committee request was “almost limitless in scope,” and sought records with no reasonable connection to that day. He alleged the committee is seeking potentially millions of presidential records that he asserts are covered by a broad range of privileges, including those that cover presidential communications and conversations between lawyers and a client.
The committee’s request was a “vexatious, illegal fishing expedition,” unprecedented in scope and “untethered from any legitimate legislative purpose," the lawsuit said.

I am not a UScitizen and my opinion is therefore less valid and I know it will be unpopularBUT...I think draw a line under trump and move on.
Only the lawyers will get rich and the txpayers more poor if he is pursued through the courts.
If there's a slam dunk case against him then prosecute but all these comittees and whatnot cost money.
Personally I'd draw a line under Biden too and get Obama back...he was no fan of the UK but he was (in my humble opinion) a president you could be proud of.

Obama was a good President, and a good speaker, but I think he fell victim to "political correctness." This, in turn, incited the deep-rooted hatred of those who were tired of political correctness. At least that's my theory. Have you heard of Trayvon Martin? Have you heard of the clock-bomb kid? Ultimately big "oopses" for the PC crowd. And enough to give a Sociopath like Trump a path to the "Presidency."

@TheHorse I was thinking that perhaps he deserved to spend his final days in exile on an island somewhere just like Napoleon

@RasmaSandra Was that Napoleon's fate? Time for me to do a little research.

It is a tactic that is quite brilliant (if it works). If it fails, then the flames will burn the entire empire down.

I was reading on another forum that he has started his own social media site after being blocked on facebook and twitter. I bet that's going to be an interesting read.
I've never understood his thinking and why so many support him. I'm not a US citizen so don't even know whether I should criticise but I just don't get him.

@TheHorse That's one way of putting it. There was a guy here, an intelligent guy, called Jim who supported him. I haven't seen him here since I came back but I could never understand why.

He's frightened (Not bored). If this works, it will delay the proceedings for years, which is his real goal. Even he is smart enough to know that he can't win. But delay is possible.

@TheHorse I've never researched it, either, but in Donny's case at least, it seems to be very true.

@xander6464 That's something I haven't really researched. Do narcissists and sociopaths have feelings for their own direct families? Fred Trump Sr. pretty much neglected Donald until he saw a use for him.
