The Bobcat Ordeal

A couple of weeks ago my hubby decided he was tired of putting air in the tires on the Bobcat mower he has. It is like a zero turn mower and he was fed up with having to stop and put air in the tires before he used it just about every time.
He decided that he would put tubes in the tires and that would be the end of it. Well, we had to order the tubes. They finally came in last week. He thought this would be an easy one day project. Wrong. He ended up going to buy a tire changing kit. That was a trip to the next town over.
Next day he spent most of the day working on this project. He didnt' get even one on. At dinner that night he said he needed my help on the project so I said that's fine. I don't have to be anywhere tomorrow. We worked on it all afternoon and still no success. The tire was not giving way enough to get the tire back on the rim. He was useing two pairs of channel locks and we decided that having one more pair may do the trick.
So off to the next town over again for another pair of channel locks. He bought two more pair just to be sure. (Ha!)
We worked on the tire(s) again the following day and I told him he needed to explore another option. He ended up looking online after dinner and found a set of tires. So we ordered them. They came in and he noted that he needed washers for installation. This was another trip to the next town over today.
Tomorrow is a rain day and he should finish this project up on Thursday. I'll be so glad for this one to be done and over with. So annoying!
Have you had a project that you thought would take about an hour at most and then turn out to be a nightmare?

No, I don't tackle projects like that. I'd call someone else to do it for me. I'm good in my fields but that's not one of them.

@DaddyEvil That's just it--the dealer he bought from went out of business. The nearest one is several hours away.

I sure hope the tire situation for you finally works out, Oh, yes, I remember the beauty of a electric saw that my late husband bought when we lived in Latvia and had a large garden, The chain kept slipping off and we could not figure it out, Then light dawned and there was a special lock mechanism we had over looked but boy it took us a couple of weeks to figure it all out, He though just take it out of the box and put it together, plug it in and saw,

Always. Every project seems to take 10x the effort you think it's going to.
