How fast have you ever driven a car?

There were some wide open spaces on my trip yesterday and my mind has a tendency to wander while traveling the roads of boonieville. I was noticing my speedometer went up to 140. I was thinking the fastest I have ever driven was about 85 MPH. What about you? What is the fastest you have driven?

My 1988 Dodge Daytona Turbo pegged out at around 130 mph... A police officer friend radared me going that speed. We both wanted to know what the top speed was for it.

Good thing your PO friend had you covered. With my luck, I would be sitting in the slammer with reckless driving charge.

@snowy22315 I know... I was 23, I believe. How many 23 year olds do you know who act smart?

140mph!? I think 100mph is about the fastest I've ever driven.

I wasn't driving that fast..but I noticed theoretically the car could go that fast I wasn't driving a hair over 95. J/k.. Really I was going about 50.

@snowy22315 to you, too! There have been times that my speed does creep up some if I'm not paying attention to it.

When I was in my teens, 115 MPH in a Pontiac Tempest on the highway at night, not a car in sight...that was stupid of me, but back then I had no fear.

I think I've made it to 90 before. The speed limit on the freeway is 70 here. Folks pass me like I'm doing 20 when I follow the rules.

There are a fair amount of police around in these parts..Going too much over the speed limit isn't advisable.Tickets are so expensive these days.

I hit about 160mph driving a Jaguar a few years ago. I've driven my bikes in excess of 135mph. I do like speed. Was the speedo in mph or km/h?

I think that it was likely 90-something. That wasn't to prove anything but, rather, to keep from getting run over by speeding, aggressive drivers in an area where the "slow" lane apparently meant nothing under 85 mph.
