This is working out just fine

I messaged the lady who has sick kids cause of Covid. I asked her if she could use a pot of soup. Not the canned variety but the 'me' variety. She messaged back: YES. So tomorrow I will bring her a big pot of soup. I always ask before I give folks food cause it costs me time and effort and yes, money to make that stuff. If the person will waste it, then why bother? I won't make pie crust if the person is going to leave it on the side of the plate, politely, of course. I figured since I am trying to not move too much stuff, if the lady could use drinking glasses or other kitchen stuff? She said that she sure could and that she basically has very little. So...... today I am digging around in my kitchen cupboards. I found spare drinking glasses, a couple heavy plates, a couple dessert bowls, stuff. Less to pay to move next Spring. Hubby says he will help me get the boxes to the car tomorrow.

@RebeccasFarm I kind of like ground turkey and I kind of don't. Kind of a weird texture.

@RebeccasFarm Please look below at @NJChicaa's question and my answer. I was going to just go all vegetarian but hubby thought that wasn't a good idea so I cooked up some ground turkey.

It's good of you to take soup to her. She has to be terribly overwhelmed right now. I think that I might go for another round of thinning out our stuff today. That is provided, of course, that my husband will give me a hand. Even with donating some more stuff, I don't look forward to moving all of this stuff again-- and move again we must.

@sallypup Yes, and I think that the building's management may help me pack. Things got a bit heated when I was talking with them earlier today, because they do nothing when told of issues. They don't like it when tenants don't back down and roll over, and it is now getting to the point where I've given up on them and am ready to get the police and/or lawyer involved. However, those things would just further drain us of time and energy (and, in the case of the attorney, money) that would be better devoted to getting what we really want.

@sallypup I was being sarcastic about the packing bit. I think that they've deemed me "high maintenance" and will be glad to see the back of me. Me demanding that they provide me with a safe and decent place to live means that they have to do work. They do now know, though, very clearly that there is an issue. We managed to get one somewhat solid piece of evidence later in the day against the lot that has been causing us problems, and my husband took that to them. However, that doesn't make our daily situation any better.

@wilsongoddard They'll help you pack? Amazing. I am one of those spoiled brats who have not dealt with apartment manager snots in forever. I hope you get done what you need done.

@NJChicaa The noodles soaked up some of the broth. Thick soup is easier to transport anyway.

This is very kind of you, helping this mother with sick children. I helped a family one time, made them dinner and it was surely appreciated. Giving to other people, we will never be in lack ourselves!
