This is south Bronx, the original place that brought forth break dancing!! Despite it's landscape of rubble and empty and burned buildings, south Bronx was a very fascinating part of New York city. So much history in South Bronx. Rap is also said to have originated in the south of Bronx. Today, much has changed in south Bronx. It has been rebuilt and economic activity has returned. Have you heard about south Bronx or visited?!

That picture reminds me of science fiction movies I've seen where they depict aliens bombing the earth. I have never been that far east in my adult life but when I was 9 dad was shipped from Germany back to the US with us in tow on a boat and we did land in NYC, I just don't remember much about it.

This is what south Bronx looked like , a good description. When I see these pics, it's hard to believe that many people lived there! I heard talk of south Bronx, but didn't know it was quite like this many years ago. Most of the buildings were like this because the landlords I read let them catch on fire for insurance money. Out of this rubble came one of the greatest dance forms and legends of rap and singers like Irene cara
