Accepted by the Agency

In a previous post, I mentioned that my youngest son, Mini, had an audition for a casting agency. I believe I said I'd let you know the outcome. He has been accepted by the agency. He's just reading through the contract, terms, and other information before deciding whether to accept or not. The only issue we have is that they're asking for us to pay for them to create a website - this is quite normal in the industry but this one is asking for a much higher price than others. I'm considering simply paying for someone to build Mini a professional website but, of course, the agencies have all the resources and connections to find work. Anyway, he's adding his profile to some other recommended websites for acting work while deciding if this other one is going to be worth it. He's also enjoyed his work experience. He played an escaped prisoner in a scare maze. He's given me permission to use the selfie that he took. He only did two days of that. Apparently, he needs 20 hours of work experience but he's done less than 8. I think he'll need to have a chat with his college tutors about what else he could do. He's had fun, though. Not much else going on around here. I'm happy because I've had two 'likes' on a blog post I posted this morning. I hardly ever post so two likes almost immediately was awesome! I'm not sure how my other son, Midi, is doing as he's not called this week. As for the girls - T is undergoing yet more tests for yet more problems. It's possible she's going blind. It's also just as possible that she and her mum are simply overreacting/attention-seeking. We spoke to C a couple of weeks ago. She seems happy enough. Her husband has just passed his driving test. Their 3 girls seem to be doing well at school/nursery - the two older ones were doing their homework when we called. That's all from me for now. How about you?

I remember you posted about Mini and his audition. I am very glad he was accepted by the agency. Read carefully the fine lines twice.

Mini knows to read everything, get me to read everything, then my husband to read it then back to me for another look! As we've looked further into this one, it doesn't seem quite right. They've asked him to register with a couple of other places - one of them is OK except a lot of the job listings seem to be out of date. The other asks for a fee - this wasn't mentioned by the agency, and you have to put credit card details in even if you're not paying by credit card. Mini has said he really wants to join this agency. I've explained everything to him, including why my husband and I don't think it's very good, but giving him the ultimate choice on the understanding that he'll have to pay any fees himself.

@pumpkinjam I do not like places that ask for credit card details, but I know that it's more and more common. Well, if he agrees and there is nothing that sounds wrong or alarming, I think it's good to let him have this experience.
