My Phone Shrieked

My cell phone almost gave me a heart attack. I think I had been asleep for ten minutes, but shortly after midnight my phone shrieked. Before I could look at it the tornado sirens went off. My phone was sending a tornado warning alert. While no one likes tornadoes, it's so much worse at night when you can't see it coming. I remember once my dad telling me about the time he left church, and he could see the tornado coming his way. I prefer to be able to see death coming my way instead of being surprised. The worst is when it's night and your power goes off and you can't follow the tornado coverage. I kept praying, Lord PLEASE don't let my power go out. Thankfully, it didn't. We didn't get any tornadoes, thank goodness. Two weeks ago we had tornado warnings here. October is not normally tornado weather, but I remember a couple years ago we had one in December.

We seem to have had fewer the last year or two. Not sure if I would be happy my phone warned me, or unnerved from being woke up.

The one and only time we had a tornado here the power went out just before the 11 0'clock news...but this was such a small localized thing, not ever sure it would have shown up on radar. It was plenty bad though and knocked over some of the big trees around here, including one that took out a portion of my roof.

We can get them any time of the year here, but I can understand how you feel.Something like that would give me a near heart attack, too. I'm glad you're safe and didn't lose power.

I hope you do not get any tornadoes where you live.

We had tornados in 2019 in july! And we hadnt had tornados for decades before that. It was scary. Especially since one hit right by our home. Stay safe!

So did the Tornado change its path? Or did its impact got reduced? One gets terrified even on hearing about a Tornado.
