Relieved the weekend is over

The funerals on Saturday and Sunday for my aunt and uncle went well.
The weather was cold and extremely windy which made it feel colder. Slight rain drizzle off and on, but so thankful it didn't pour down.
Both were at our family church and of course there was a ton of food. The family and relatives were fed in the fellowship hall at noon, then there was an hour for visitation or wake while everyone visited, then the funeral service.
My husband gave the eulogy at both funerals and I sang. One of my uncles played the guitar and sang. He was a brother to both of the deceased.
They were buried in the cemetery next to the church, one close to where my parents are buried and the other a couple of graves away.
They both had Alzheimers and when my aunt Deannie's headstone was set down in the cemetery a few years ago, she said when she saw it, "I need some flowers on it!" Her son said, "Mama, you're not dead yet!"
Aunt Deannie finally got lots of flowers. I think she would be pleased.

@BelleStarr I think we always miss loved ones even though we know they're much better.

It really was. I've never had two close relatives die at the same time. Thankfully a lot of people were able to attend both.

@Dena91 Oh, bless their hearts. I can't imagine burying both parents at the same time.
