A Dent in the Escape

Ah Mondays. You just have to love them.
My mom went over to my niece's house to babysit for her great-grandchild while my niece went to work, and lo and behold somehow my niece managed to back into my mom's Ford Escape.
It's a pretty good dent, and it appears that the damages are $4,000 to repair. Ouch.
The good news is that my niece's insurance will cover it and the body shop where the car will be repaired will offer a loaner while it is being fixed.

That seems very expensive to repair that. Way overpriced. However did she manage to do this?

I really don't know. My niece just backed into my mom's car. lol. I can't explain it either. I tend to think mirrors and windows would be sufficient to supply one an adequate view of where the car is going and what's around it.
But that's just me. lol

@porwest Maybe she was distracted.
This reminds me of a movie (or maybe it was a commercial or video) where a female instead of going forward was going backward. She realized what was happening but kept on going anyway instead of pressing on the brake...

Great news that at least the insurance will cover it.

What a bummer. Repairs are so, so expensive. I think they give out high estimates because they know the insurance companies will pay the bills.

Ouch.
Oh, well, doo-doo happens. That’s why we have insurance. Still sorry it happened, though.

Repairs were expensive to begin with, now they are proving to be outrageous with the supply issues and inflation.
