Nope, I still cannot conceive how algorithm works and I don't think I ever will. No problem. I am fine with that. I have an android that I rarely use. I have an ipad to play wordscapes and candy crash with. And a laptop to facebook and mylot. youtube and watch netflix. That's all as far as I am attuned with technology. Yesterday, lunchtime, I mentioned to my daughter that an ad on a bakeshop appeared on my video feed. I was surprised because I mentioned the name of the bakeshop while we were hunting for a place to dine Friday noon. But my daughter negated the idea because the cakes are too sweet. So, I settled for a chef's salad in an adjacent resto - al fresco. My daughter said that the gadgets are eavesdropping on us. In fact, these AI are not only listening but can predict our thoughts via the algorithm. I rest my case! Creepy!

I know what you mean. I do not like them listening in on us either. In fact, I believe it should be considered a violation of one of our basic human rights.

I agree with you completely. It is a violation of our human rights. If they can hear me or predict my thoughts, can they also see me? I mean, I play candy crash to lull me to sleep and sometimes leave the gadget on. Can they watch me snoring?

@eileenleyva I believe they can. That is why I leave electronics out of my bedroom and cover all cameras.

@Chellezhere I see. I think I will do the same from now on - leave electronics out of the bedroom. My daughter did put a tape on the laptop camera. Can't see me but still can hear.

I have heard the horror stories from some hosts on You Tube that some gadgets are really spy weapons.

That is very scary indeed. I will tend to believe that because China would go to any length to power play the whole world.
