Anthony Serritella who was walking out of a church in Chicago Illinois is grateful that firefighters in the same city were kind enough to answer the call for assistance to retrieve the wedding ring that fell down a storm drain recently.
The fire crew climbed into the storm drain and were able to retrieve the wedding ring to Anthony a short time later.
I am sure that Anthony is grateful the Chicago firefighters were able to retrieve his ring and return it to him safely.

I agree with you since Anthony admitted that the wedding band was his father's.

It was since the wedding band belonged to his father.

I lost 20 kilos of weight once, a few years ago, and I was shaking my hand, as for some reason, as it was aching, and the wedding ring slid right off onto the road, and started rolling.
It went under a parked car, but I was lucky enough to be able to reach under it with a stick, and to get it back again too.
It has always been a fear of mine that if I parked close to a drain vent, and accidentally dropped my keys down the grill, I would be in real trouble then too.
We have good firemen, and fireladies here too though, so if it does happen, I will also give them a call.
Anthony would have felt great relief to get it back again.

That is great that the firemen were able to get the ring back, However I wonder how the ring fell of his finger and into that storm drain in the first place,

Anthony was talking to someone close to him and it appeared that the ring fell off his finger by accident as he was walking outside of the church.

I agree with you since they do not get the love that deserve from the news media.
