Life-changing habits

I just watched a YouTube video about ‘Three little habits which will change your life’. Like most of these type of thing, it was rather underwhelming - the three habits the presenter discussed were: clean your kitchen sink before bed; get dressed in the morning, and declutter one space every day. Obviously the decluttering depends on how much clutter you have in the first place so that’s a personal choice, but the other two - do people really need to be told to clean up after themselves and get dressed?? No wonder the world is going to the dogs. You wonder what parents teach their children nowadays - but then perhaps it’s the case that children never listen to their parents, but they will take advice from some random stranger on YouTube. I don't bother changing out of my sleep shorts unless I'm going out somewhere. After I shower, I just slip some more sleep shorts on. *shrug*

@Fleura Why bother changing if we aren't leaving the house?

@DaddyEvil Because it not only affects the way you look (obviously) but it influences your mindset too.

I am already doing two out of three, not a bad start when I haven't seen the video! I so sometimes have a very late start to the day and keep the old PJs on!

I don't like wearing PJs for long, makes me feel like a slob! Don't bother watching the video, you are ahead of the game anyway!

@Fleura I feel like that too, sometimes. Mostly I can ignore it!

No indeed. Although this was certainly good advice, I was just shocked that people actually need it!

@Fleura Yes the one you posted was definitely a good advice. Unfortunately, there are bad videos on YouTube too and kids may get influenced by those

I fully agree with you. I do not need to declutter my own space every day, because it's not cluttered, but the other twos sounds ridiculous. Are there people who do not get dressed in the morning?

@Fleura Even if I do not plan to go out for a day, I take a shower and get dressed in the morning. I know what you mean, I have been in some houses of respectable people who looked horrible, not even clean.

It does make you wonder how some people live. And having been inside the houses of some people, I have been taken aback in real life. People who look smart, presentable and respectable and have decent jobs sometimes turn out to live in a real mess!

I should have learnt by now that the videos with the most eye-grabbing titles are the ones to avoid!

@Fleura Some really are the pits. The title promised something spectacular and it's like 'Duh'.

Some people do have to be told unfortunately. Love the photo.

You'd think their parents would have told them - but then maybe they didn't listen.

I am OK with the first two but decluttering is only done occasionally

actually it is something that needs to be told, you'd be surprised how if you could see some people's life styles. also, these kind of advice help when you're depressed and don't even want to shower.. you could start by trying even just one of these three and it can help you get going with life again, it's true how you feel less depressed when your home is teddy, especially if you live alone..

I totally agree, getting up in the morning to be faced with a kitchen full of dirty dishes and left-over food to be cleared up is the most depressing start to the day ever, I'm just surprised people actually need to be told that!
